I was into the recorder a lot in college and the years after that. I guess I wanted to write a real classical sort of tune for the lil' fella and this was it. In three movements for piano and alto recorder. Note, the piano on the SY85 is more of an early 18th sounding pianoforte than the big orchestral instrument it is today so take that into consideration. I'm also a big fan of Ravel and Prokofiev so forgive me for borrowing stylistically from both of these blokes. Thanx guys for the inspiration. This Sonatina could work probably just as well with a flute. Now, settle down and listen.
